Dr. Robert Muckle is a board-certified neurotologist, having earned his undergraduate degree from Stanford University and receiving his medical training at the University of Michigan. Upon the completion of his general surgery internship at the Naval Hospital in San Diego and serving a two-year tour of duty as a Naval Medical Officer, Dr. Muckle obtained his training in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Minnesota. A board-certified otolaryngologist, he completed a fellowship in Otology/Neurotology at the House Ear Institute prior to joining Denver Ear Associates in 1995.
Dr. Muckle’s clinical interests include diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss, including surgical reconstruction of the hearing mechanism, cochlear and middle ear implantation, treatment of chronic ear disorders, and surgical treatment of tumors of the skull base. He serves a wide patient population, both children and adults, who suffer from all forms of disorders of the ear.
Dr. Muckle is a clinical instructor of otolaryngology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, and the American Neurotology Society. He is a past president and executive committee member of the Colorado ENT Society, and a member of the Denver Medical Society. Dr. Muckle previously served as a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology’s National Committee on Balance Disorders.
Dr. Muckle is an experienced lecturer on disorders of the ear at the local, national, and international levels of scientific meetings. He has published articles in several medical journals, such as the American Journal of Otology and Pediatrics. Dr. Muckle remains active in his commitment to providing hearing health care to the underprivileged in third-world countries.
